Psychiatrist Dr. Sridhar Yaratha has earned honors such as the Esther McMahon Award. Now he serves on the Forensic Review Panel for the Commonwealth of Virginia alongside his work at Gateway Homes and Central State Hospital. On the first Friday of every month, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) presents a live artistic experience. This eclectic event has featured a variety of performing arts techniques displayed in various locations throughout the museum, all drawing from different cultural backgrounds. It begins at 6 p.m. in the Cochrane Atrium, and while the event ends at 8 p.m., the museum is open until 9 p.m. on Friday nights. In addition to its monthly First Fridays events, the VMFA also offers weekly Friday Art & Wine Tours with discounted happy hour drinks at its Best Cafe and half-hour themed tours of the museum beginning at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Themes change weekly.
