About Dr Sridhar Yaratha - Forensic Psychiatrist
Since 2006, Dr. Sridhar Yaratha has worked for Central State Hospital in Petersburg, Virginia, as a forensic psychiatrist and attending physician for the men’s long-term forensic unit. He is also the attending psychiatrist at Gateway Homes, where he manages the care of patients with chronic mental illness. Dr. Sridhar Yaratha holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from Austin College and a medical degree from Spartan Health Sciences University; he completed residencies in both psychiatry and internal medicine at West Virginia University’s Charleston Area Medical Center. He also currently serves as a forensic review panel member for the Commonwealth of Virginia, a position he has held since 2007.
Dr. Yaratha maintains membership with several professional organizations, including the American Society of Addiction Medicine, and has participated in research on health topics such as schizophrenia, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and neuroleptic malignant syndrome. Apart from his professional endeavors, Dr. Yaratha supports the Fine Arts Museum and the Richmond Ballet.
